Since vimeo.com was down last night I did not get a chance to upload my videos until 7:30 this morning. So there is a good chance that when you go to view my work it will tell you they can’t be viewed for another couple minutes. I appologize for this.
Another problem I came to, I am extremely new to mixing flash and video as that is probably very apparent. Some tips on how to go about this would be very appreciated since all night last night was spent on trying to sucessfuly post a valid video of my animations.
I didn’t have well anything last week because I had no idea what I wanted to do but here is my idea now.
I wanted to do a dream sequence focusing on the girl in the video that is assumed to die in a car accident. It would be the guy dreaming. My words are bravery and cowardice. The way this dream is going to express these words will be the guilt the guy feels for her death. Since I don’t have a lot of experience in dubing over film with animation or flash I decided I wanted to make stills. Side note: I have started re filming my original video to fit better as well.
Black & white:
this will start the dream sequence with the guy being asleep and first imagining the girl lying next to him in bed.
Expressive Line:
this will more than likely be the 2nd image and will show his guilt the most. the lines and edges will be very sharp. I am not married to any ideas for this one yet but I think it will show very little detail of her and be very nightmare like.
Transparency:
in my new film there is a picture of the girl that appears twice throughout. that image is going to be torn up and fall into nothing.
Metallics:
I want to use collage for this one. Most likely I will use either the photo from the last or other photos to paste something less nightmare and more comforting.
Florescent pigments:
this is the one that is done and the most comforting of his dream. It is forgiving and very obviously based off of pop art. This is what I’ve done so far but another idea was to maybe have it literally come out of a comic book.

His name is Steve, despite the alcohol on his breath and smoke trapped in his beard he’ll try to convince you he’s innocent. He shakes his unkempt hair and mutters it’s not my fault. As he rises from the last stable thing in his life he ignores the destruction. He pulls another one from the fridge and his mind drifts back to a time that once made sense. A time where everything was how it was suppose to be. He was happy and that was all that mattered. Steve’s mind then went to a darker place. It was a normal fight, just like the ones they had before. She drove off like she had in the past but this time was different. This time she never cam back. He drinks her memory away, does everything he can to forget that night but nothing ever seems to be enough.
